1. Walking up to the top of Bernal Heights together late at night to watch the meteor shower. There is a cold wind and you never stop shaking.

2. Sitting at the beach watching a plane take off and arc over the city. You leaned over and and touched your head to my shoulder. The next day it rained. It never rains in June. That was 6 years ago, but I still remember that day like it was yesterday. Things change.

3. Early spring storm forming over the Pacific Ocean as the evening light fades and you wrap a blanket around your shoulders in the Safeway parking lot.

4. The rain hitting the window sill and it is almost midnight on a Saturday night and all the lights are off in your room.

5. Every night on ice. Every night on ice.

6. Walking through empty Anza Vista neighborhood streets at night with all the cars in driveways and the city off in the distance glowing.

7. Staring up at the night sky holding hands with everyone all around. The grass is cold and wet to your touch when you reach down to catch yourself from falling. We walk back down the hill and then we are all alone again on the corner of Mission and Virginia avenue. The 24 bus will come eventually. You look up at the sky and eternity explains everything again.

8. Do you remember all the names you used to call me? I don't even have your phone number anymore. Ghosts they can smoke cigarettes. And every night they do. Every night they do.
